Atlanta United FC is an American professional soccer club based in Atlanta. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. Founded in 2014, Atlanta United began play as an MLS expansion team in 2017, as the twenty-second team in the league. It is the first MLS franchise to be based in Atlanta, and the club plays home games at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which they share with the city’s National Football League (NFL) franchise, the Atlanta Falcons. The club is operated by Arthur Blank, owner of the Falcons and co-founder of The Home Depot. The club also owns Atlanta United 2, a reserve team that competes in MLS Next Pro. Gerardo Martino was appointed as the club’s first head coach and guided Atlanta to their first playoff appearance in the team’s debut season, before securing the team’s first trophy in just their second season by winning MLS Cup 2018. Atlanta has set several league records for highest single-match and average attendance. In 2024, Forbes estimated the club was the second most valuable in the league, worth approximately $900 milion.

The Union began play in 2010 as an expansion team of the league. The team plays their home matches at Talen Energy Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium located in Chester, Pennsylvania, on the banks of the Delaware River. Jim Curtin is the Union’s head coach.
The Union finished as runners-up in the 2014 and 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournaments. In the 2014 edition, they lost to the Seattle Sounders FC 3–1 in extra time and to Sporting Kansas City 6–7 on penalties in after a 1–1 draw in the 2015 edition.

Toronto FC began play in 2007 as an expansion team, and are the first Canadian based franchise in the league. New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), as a member of the Eastern Conference of the league. The franchise began play in 1996 as a charter club of the league.
The club is owned by Robert Kraft, who also the owner of the New England Patriots along with his son, Jonathan Kraft, who is a major investor of the club. The name “Revolution” refers to the New England region’s significant involvement in the American Revolution that took place from 1775-1783.
New England currently play their home matches at Gillette Stadium. The club first played their home games at the now-demolished Foxboro Stadium, from 1996 until 2001. The Revs hold the distinction of being the only original MLS team to have every league game in its history televised.
The Revolution won their first major trophy in the 2007 US Open Cup. The following year, they also have won the 2008 North American SuperLiga. The Revs have a total of five MLS Cup final appearances, (2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2014) where they had been runners up on each appearance. They also earned the second best regular season record in 2005.

The Montreal Impact is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Montreal, Quebec that competes as a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer (MLS). Chicago Fire Soccer Club is an American professional soccer club based in the Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, Illinois, United States. The team competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference of the league. The franchise is named after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and was founded on October 8, 1997, the event’s 126th anniversary. The team began play in 1998 as one of the league’s first expansion teams. The Fire won the MLS Cup as well as the U.S. Open Cup (the “double”) on their first season. They have also won U.S. Open Cups in 2000, 2003, and 2006; in addition to the 2003 MLS Supporters’ Shield.
The Fire maintains an extensive development system, consisting of the Chicago Fire U-23 (Premier Development League and Super-20 League teams), the Chicago Fire Development Academy, and the Chicago Fire Juniors youth organization. Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men’s professional soccer league, sanctioned by U.S. Soccer, that represents the sport’s highest level in both the United States and Canada. MLS constitutes one of the major professional sports leagues of the United States and Canada. The league is composed of 20 teams—17 in the U.S. and 3 in Canada. The MLS regular season runs from March to October, with each team playing 34 games; the team with the best record is awarded the Supporters’ Shield. The post season includes twelve teams competing in the MLS Cup Playoffs through November and December, culminating in the championship game, the MLS Cup. MLS teams also play in other domestic competitions against teams from other divisions in the U.S. Open Cup and in the Canadian Championship. MLS teams also compete against continental rivals in the CONCACAF Champions League.
